These drawings are early experiments with superimposition, studies from life, stream-of-consciousness patterns, schematic doodles, and geometrical studies. I think of my drawings as the experimental stage of painting. At the same time, they are pieces of art in their own right: pure and undeveloped forms of a powerful idea.
